Seating charts

Seating charts in Seated With Love put named guests into seats at the tables of the room the venue drew, keep more than one version of the arrangement, and mark one as final.

What it does

  • Puts named guests into actual seats at the actual tables in the room you drew, not into an abstract list.
  • Keeps more than one version of the arrangement, so trying a different table plan does not destroy the last one.
  • Marks one version as final, which is the signal your team is waiting for.
  • Shows you the chart from your own dashboard, so you are not asking for a copy.
  • Downloads every guest to Excel, with where they are sitting and everything they answered in the RSVP.
  • Alerts the staff on that booking when a chart is marked final.

How it works

  1. They start from your room

The tables are the ones you placed, with the seat counts you set. Nobody is inventing a floor plan in a spreadsheet that will not match the room on the day.

  2. Guests go into seats

Your client drags a named guest onto a seat. Each seat holds one person, and guests can be swapped between seats when the inevitable rearranging starts.

  3. They try more than one plan

Save a version, then try another. Both are kept, so the argument about which arrangement was better can be settled by looking at them rather than rebuilding one.

  4. One gets marked final

When they settle, they mark a version final. The staff assigned to that booking are emailed, so your team learns the plan is done without checking.

  5. You work from it

Open the chart from your own dashboard, and download the Guest Data tab as an Excel file when your caterer or printer needs the details.

What's included

What is included with Seating charts
Seats, not a list Guests are assigned to a specific seat at a specific table from your floor plan, so the chart and the room always agree.
One guest per seat A seat holds one person, and guests can be swapped between seats. A table cannot be given more people than it has chairs.
More than one version Several named arrangements can exist at once for the same event, so trying an alternative never means losing the current plan.
Marked final One version is marked as the final chart, and it can be unmarked if things change again.
Visible to the venue The venue opens the chart from its own dashboard, along with RSVP replies and the answers to any questions the couple asked their guests.
Guest data export The Guest Data tab downloads an Excel file of every guest: their name, the floor, table and seat they are in, and a column for each question the couple asked in their RSVP, meal choice included.
Your team is told Marking a chart final emails the staff assigned to that booking, so setup planning starts without anyone chasing.
Any event type Seating works the same for every event a venue hosts, not only weddings.

Common questions

What is wedding seating chart software?

It is a tool for deciding who sits where, working from the venue's real tables rather than a sketch. In Seated With Love the couple or event host drags named guests onto seats at the tables the venue placed, so the chart and the room match.

Does Seated With Love include seating charts?

Yes, on both the free and the Pro plan. Seating appears in every client portal, and it works from the floor plan the venue built rather than from a blank grid.

Can a client keep more than one seating plan?

Yes. Several named versions can exist for the same event at once, so trying a different arrangement never destroys the one they already had. When they settle, one version is marked final.

How does the venue know the seating is finished?

Marking a chart final emails the staff assigned to that booking. That is usually the signal setup can be planned, and it arrives without anyone opening the event to check.

Can the venue see the seating chart?

Yes, from your own dashboard, along with the RSVP replies and the answers to any questions the couple asked their guests. You are not waiting for someone to email you a copy.

Can I get the seating and guest details out as a spreadsheet?

Yes. The Guest Data tab downloads an Excel file covering every guest: their name, the floor, table and seat they are sitting in, and a column for each question the couple asked in their RSVP. Meal choices, dietary needs and anything else they asked come out alongside the seat, which is what a caterer or a printer actually needs.

Does seating work for events other than weddings?

Yes. Any event with tables and named guests works the same way, from a corporate dinner to a gala.
